Finance Business Partner

Role OverviewWe are looking for a seasoned Head – Finance Business Partner to act as a strategic finance partner to the business leadership team. The role will drive business performance through financial planning, commercial insights, profitability analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making across key business functions.The ideal candidate should combine strong financial expertise with a deep understanding of FMCG / Retail / D2C / E-commerce / Consumer business models and be capable of influencing senior stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with senior leadership to drive business strategy, financial performance, and profitability.Lead annual budgeting, business planning, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.Provide actionable financial insights on sales, margins, costs, investments, and profitability.Drive P&L ownership and performance reviews across business verticals.Develop financial models and business cases for new products, stores, channels, markets, and strategic initiatives.Analyse channel-wise, category-wise, product-wise, and customer-wise profitability.Partner with Sales, Marketing, E-commerce, Retail, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to improve commercial performance.Identify revenue growth opportunities, cost optimisation areas, and key financial risks.Establish and monitor business KPIs, dashboards, MIS, and performance metrics for leadership review.Conduct variance analysis against budget, forecast, and previous performance, with clear corrective action plans.Support pricing, promotion, discounting, assortment, inventory, and investment decisions from a financial perspective.Evaluate ROI of marketing campaigns, trade spends, promotions, CAPEX, and business investments.Strengthen financial governance, controls, and decision-making processes across business functions.Lead and mentor the Finance Business Partnering team and build a strong performance-oriented finance culture.Present key financial insights, risks, opportunities, and recommendations to the CFO / Business Head / Senior Leadership Team.Key Skills & CompetenciesStrategic Finance & Business PartneringP&L ManagementFinancial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)Budgeting & ForecastingCommercial FinanceBusiness Performance ManagementFinancial Modelling & Scenario PlanningProfitability & Cost AnalysisStrong Data & Analytical SkillsStakeholder Management & InfluencingStrategic Decision-MakingLeadership & Team ManagementExperience & QualificationsCA / MBA Finance / equivalent qualification from a reputed institution.12–18+ years of relevant experience in Finance, FP&A, Commercial Finance, or Finance Business Partnering.Strong experience in FMCG, Retail, Consumer, D2C, E-commerce, or similar businesses preferred.Proven experience working closely with CXO / Business Leadership teams.Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business recommendations.Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.Success in the RoleThe successful candidate will be expected to establish Finance as a strategic business partner, enabling leadership to make faster and better decisions while improving revenue growth, profitability, cost efficiency, cash flow, and overall business performance.
